During the RASL Dual Degree Module, you will explore various forms of knowledge within and beyond the boundaries of artistic and scientific knowledge. Your task is to develop a project in which you challenge yourself to combine different ways of knowing (embodied, sensory, affective, experiential, etc.) and you might relate to them in your own practice. We encourage students to use their current context – studies, internship, jobs – to situate their project in.
PROJECT
Articulation (noun)
“Clarity in the production of successive notes.” (music)
“The act of giving utterance or expression.”
“The action or manner of jointing or interrelating.”

*Artefact (noun)
“An object demonstrating human workmanship.”
“An object remaining from a particular period.”
“Something observed in an investigation or experiment that is not naturally present but occurs as a result of the preparative or investigative procedure.”
During the Resonance week, on 7 and 8 June, you will present the outcomes of your project. The focus of the presentation is on the outcomes of your project; not so much in terms of measurable results, but rather in (preliminary) learning conclusions, and their influence on your position as a practitioner. The format of the presentation will be collectively decided upon.
ARTICULATION
The Articulation offers a visible/tangible account (documentation) of your project and learning trajectory. Its emphasis is on identifying and connecting learning moments and clearly articulating their perpetual significance to your (future) practice. The format of the Articulation is free: it can be anything from a publication to a sound piece, installation, webpage, visual essay, object, etc., as long as the artefact* gives insight into your project and main learnings.
In the RASL Dual Degree Module, we strongly encourage a self-directed approach to learning. Therefore, we ask you to formulate your own learning outcome and conduct a self-assessment. More information on self-assessment can be found under Assessment.

ASSESSMENT
The final assessment of the RASL module will take the form of live assessment*. Both the tutors and the student themselves will assess the outcomes. In a conversation between tutor and student these individual assessments will be discussed, compared and possibly adjusted.

The assessment of the module will be scored on a scale from Fail, Pass, Good to Very good.

A pass will be the result if you can show you mastered the preformulated learning outcomes and your own learning outcome. A group discussion will determine what extra aspects are part of Good and Very good.

The preformulated learning outcomes of this module are below.

By the end of the module students can:
- distinguish different knowledge systems and ways of knowing and
recognize them in various contexts.
- analyse their own ways of learning both in and outside academic and
artistic education.
- critically reflect on different educational contexts and to justify the
selection of educational reference for one’s own research.
- formulate a research project to further their insights.
- reflect on their ability to self-direct their learning and
- reflect on and formulate desired learning outcomes and how to evaluate
them.
